Feel Radiant - Part 2

Basic maintenance steps are not enough if you want to keep your skin healthy and young.
To feel radiant and vibrant, we have to work a few more steps!

Every week I exfoliate my skin once to make sure all my pores are clean.
Exfoliate, to rub gently with foam that content some sand-like granular substance, helps to remove dead skin and thus can let the younger skin breathe better. People like me who put on make-up almost everyday to work, we often have dull skin and clogged pores due to the make-up residue. So this exfoliating step help to unclog your pores, and removing the dead skin can enhance the absorption of all serum we use to improve our skin.

Some of the products I've used and would recommend:

The above 2 products are easy to use. Just squeeze out a decent amount and gently massage on your face. Rinse off and you'll feel the difference. The other one that I am currently using is the Dermaline Daily Microfoliant. Even though it said Daily, but I only use once to twice a week and my skin gets healthier. As I use serum after my toner, the exfoliated skin can absorb the serum much much better! It comes in powder form, use half a teaspoon on your wet hands and create a creamy paste by rubbing your hands. Apply to face and massage gently in circular movement, and rinse thoroughly.Ta-dah-you can immediately feel the soft skin!

But of course, even without having to buy these products, DIY Facial Scrub is not difficult to make at home.

DIY Sugar Scrub: 

• 1 tablespoon of cane sugar
• A few drips of clean water
• Add in a few drops of lemon juice - Vitamin C is great for your skin!
• Honey (Optional) - I'd recommend adding honey if you have pimples on your face. It soothe your skin better.
• Essential Oil (Optional) - Add in 1-2 drops of lavender oil to relax your tired skin, or rose oil to brighten up your skin. Every type of essential oil has their own unique properties :)

Mix together. Don't have to make sugar dissolve totally. A bit of granular leftover will be good. Apply on your face and massage gently in circular movement. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry with a clean tower.

Don't do it more than twice a week! Especially if you have sensitive skin, remember to be gentle when you massage your face. :) After exfoliating, don't forget to apply toner to keep your pores clean and tight. If not, use cold water to rise through again, that helps to close the pores too! ;)

Steps:  Cleanse -- > Exfoliate  --> Toner --> Moisturizer

Feel Radiant - Part 1

It is not easy to keep your skin radiant. Whether you are fair or tanned, the most appealing effect is that every light reflect nicely on your skin. If you are looking tired and dull, it's time to keep up with your cleansing regime!

Don't skip the basic cleansing steps twice everyday!
Cleanse -->  Toner  --> Moisturizer
This is the key steps that we all shall not be lazy with.
Do it everyday morning and evening for maintenance and that helps to prevent breakouts!

** Choose the right products for you depending on your skin condition **

But how do we know if we have dry or oily skin? 
Many of us get confused as the signs can be quite misleading.
I once have a friend who thought that she has oily skin so she bought all the products for oily skin.
Turn out to be - She has dry skin but as her skin gets drier and drier, her body reacted and started to secrete more oil to lubricate it. And the more she use her 'oily-skin' products, the more oily her face turn out to be!

Avoid this mistake. Test it yourself!

1. Wash your face with warm water. Don't add in any soap/cleanser.

2. Pat dry your face with a clean tower.

3. Keep your face dry for half an hour. Stay indoor and don't do much vigorous activity that will result in sweating. Just stay indoor and keep calm for 30 min.

4. After 30 min, touch your skin to see if it's oily or dry. To confirm, use a soft tissue to wipe your face.

•     If it is brownish or yellowish -- > oily
•     If you see white flakes and your skin looks a little tensed --> dry
•     If nothing change --> Perfect or Combination skin

Valentines' Special - Nail Art DIY

My Singapore friend came visiting and she will be staying with me for the next few nights.
It had been a while since we last catch up and hence we have been talking non-stop, exchanging juicy gossips and of course, we talked about the V-day. For two single ladies like us, before we meet our prince charming, we know we have to love and pamper ourselves in this special day too! And when she saw my collection of nail polishes, she suggested that we should try doing manicure for each other. Sounded fun and we started to look for some ideas online.

Special Day. V-Day. A day that is to filled with love. Whether you are single, attached, or complicated, one should never stop loving oneself. ;) So I decided to do a cute heart shapes DIY manicure for her - as a wish for her love life to be filled with sweet happiness very soon!

As for me, she said it's going to be a surprise, with a big grin on her face. I have no idea what she is up to, but it's V-day, a special day to love and to be loved, the design does not matter that much anymore.

Ciate Caviar Nail Polish - Not the ordinary beads

Hey Girls,

I was excited when I got my very much belated Christmas present from one of my cousins yesterday. I had been eyeing for some time but yet the price has stop me from purchasing this for myself. Now that I got this as a gift, I can't wait to try out and share with you all!



Very attractive packaging they have! It comes with a bottle of pale pink nail polish, and the other bottle is filled with cavier-sized beads. I did according to the instruction, but clumsy me did spill out some tiny beads over the place... ;p

 



It was fun applying it, but the end result was just ok. Probably I wasn't skilled enough. Anyway, here are some photos I got from different websites, just to show you girls the nicer end results if you apply it more patiently. :) I didn't apply on all my nails, only one on each hand, as I find it too much if I apply on all.

Have your Sassy Curl

I have always admired the big wavy long hair on all the celebrities over the years.
It's so feminine, and yet it adds a tone of 'naughty' and 'fun' element.
When I was younger, I used to look at some posters, with models having long wavy hair.
You can tie up and make a wavy pony tail, sassy and sexy.
You can let it down, still sassy and sexy.
You can use a hair band, or tie with a scarf, and you'll still be sassy and sexy.
So how can I miss this product?
Especially when I really hate to sit in the saloon for hours just to make my hair curl nicely.

My friend bought this last week and I was thrilled to tried out yesterday.
It was awesome! Easy to use and the curls were gorgeous.
Everything was automatically done, and within 30 minutes, a nice volume of curls on me!
Just have to clip it on the top part, and it will automatically 'slurp' in your hair!

Totally love it! >> It lasted for the whole evening until I wash my hair.

The big hit was not surprising, but the surprise that he gave for his fans was that he has decided to had his outfits used in the drama auctioned for charity! All of the proceeds collected from the auction will be used to help the underprivileged. Isn't this a lovely act in this season of giving? <3

2013 Mnet Asian Music Awards - The Angel White

Little black dress is always safe for occasions. For your first date, for a nice dinner, pair with a nice heels and you'll never go wrong. But in any occasion, the white can be glamorous as well. The angelic look that brings out purity in you, and with your radiant skin you can glow and shine the whole event. I love white too!

Mnet Asian Music Awards 2013 - The Hot Black List

Hey Girls,

I am a little slow here in sharing some of the fashion trends recently! Apologies and thank you for all your support! Just a quick review, the Mnet Asian Music Award (MAMA) 2013 was held in end-November. How can I miss the red carpet hot stars especially the lovely korean ladies! If you've missed them as well, here's a few that I've got from the web! Hope you all enjoy them!

One of my favourite dress was worn by Cha Ye Ryun. Sexy and not overexposed. I would love to wear this if I have a chance to walk on red carpet too!

Too Cool For School - For the Glamorous Rock Star

Recently I have been looking at cosmetics. There's a new Korean brand that caught my eye. Too Cool For School - they are positioned more like a Rock Star in the cosmetics kingdom. Not the sweet Etude House or the Natural Innisfree feeling, they go more like mysterious Rock Star but still - Sweet and attractive!

The shops are not brightly lit, a little bit mysterious but somehow lure you in naturally to check out what they have. Product packaging is very tempting. They made some of products really like what we use in the art class! Very tempted to try many of them. The blusher was the first that caught my eye!

The other product that I would want to try is the Egg Mouse Pack. Looks really delicious right? It feels like after I use it my face can be soft and smooth like a hard boil egg, or maybe can be as delicious as the whipped cream on the pancakes! :)

The sales lady told me I just have gently massage on my face and rinse off with water, it helps blood circulation and smoothens out and brightens the skin, leaving a moisture feeling. She said that helps to improve our skin texture so make up can be put on with an extra glowing effect.  I have not tried it but I will definitely keep you girls updates!

Cool for the Cool

Sorry for being quiet lately. Too many things happening and I was swamped with work.
Moreover, I spent quite a bit of money last month on my skin care products so I have to put a pause to shopping and fashion until I get my next pay. :(

Many places are starting to roll out autumn season fashion trend, and before the real cool weather comes, I have to stay cool and not spend for another month before I head out to hunt for my goodies.

No no no. Not hunting for guys. Hunting for the cool fashion trend I am talking about! I love the suave look when they wear on the trendy jacket. I guess guys might have less option than girls to accessorise themselves, but having the one cool jacket should be one of the wow-wow factor in their wardrobe. I like to wear with a manly touch sometimes, that makes me feel like a detective, or secret agent, hehehe super cool~ ;)

And I have to admit something. Though I am super broke now...I went the buy the above white jacket a few days ago, and now I have to feed on bread for the next few days...

Eyeliner Stickers

I have been looking around for the crystals eyelashes. I bought some, but I bought more that eyelashes this time round. I was so attracted by the eye liner stickers, and I can't wait to use one for this weekend party! They look really easy to use. Especially if you're not very good at drawing with the liquid liner. I guess this is good for traveling as well!

The one I bought looks like the top right one. I have to admit that my drawing for cat-eye are always not so perfect. Sometimes I spend more than 20 min just on the eye-liner. The tail length is quite tricky for me to make them look the same length. So I am going to be lazy this weekend and let the stickers do the magical touch. :)

 

Some are very colourful and fancy. Quite expensive though...so I didn't buy them. Maybe next time when I have an occasion! hehehe

 

 

Crystal Eyelashes

Have been super busy helping my friend for her wedding!

From hairstylist, make-up artist, nail art arrangements,

to the gowns, accessories and even stocking, every single detail has to be well taken care of,

just to ensure that the bride can walk down the aisle in the most gorgeous way.

The whole process was beautiful, and this time round, I found something to make me more happy -

Crystal Eyelashes.

 

 

I seldom wear fake eyelashes. And I find them rather uncomfortable. I have to be gentle all the time, and even blinking I have to make sure I blink gently softly and sweetly. But this time round, when the make up artist helped me with the crystal eyelashes, I felt amazing, and I feel like a real princess. :)

 

I was amazed by the result. My eyes look amazing, with the extra sparks, though I wasn't the bride, I was dancing like a princess under the light. Make-up artist told me that if you want to show off your crystals, put the emphasis on your eye makeup, and the rest just make it sweet n simple. She put on a very pale lip colour for me, and a puff of blusher, poof poof and I became a princess.

 

I am going to keep one or two pairs with me. 

Who knows, one day, when I meet my prince, I can be a real princess. ;) 

Maxi Love - Episode 2

 

Some of my friends think that maxi dresses are plain. Other than the prints that you can choose from, there's actually many ways to present the dress in your very own way! Be more creative and let me share some ideas of how you can transform your dress into different style!

 

 

Above: This is one of my favourite. I used to have a yellow one. Very bright yellow. A simple flowy material that you can wear it just by itself to look carefree, you can go with a belt, or even wear a top over it! Sometimes when I don't want to catch too much attention on street, I wear a black top and let my hair down. With my sunglasses on, my brother said I look like a cool supermodel trying to be low profile! :)

 

 

If your maxi dress is the the super flexible ones that you can wear many them in many ways, pair them with different belts and you get a totally different feeling. A thicker belt shows off your slim waist, a slim one give a more sweet and intimidating look. Try them out and look out for the one you like! If you're not using a very outstanding belt, go with a nice pendant or long necklace. I seldom wear both belt and long necklaces as I find that too overwhelmed on me. But if you have a nice slim long body, you'll still look gorgeous.

 

The other way is to wear a top over your maxi dress. If you want to create a tucked-in look, you can use a think belt to help do the trick! If not, go with a  light Korean scarf. Casual and sweet! hehe my favourite scarf was a black scarf with off-white skeleton heads prints. When I put that one I feel like a secret agent. ;) So the pattern of the scarf can determine your look as well!

 

Last but not least. You can get maxi skirt. I would definitely recommend a bright colour one. That makes you more special. (If I still have shopping budget this weekend, I'd look for the bright pink maxi dress shown in the left picture above! Can't resist the pink and the flow! )
